Clinical Services Provided by Nate Terrell, LCSW

I have been helping adults, adolescents and children resolve their problems and transform their lives for the past 40 years. My main approach is to enable my clients to learn specific skills and strategies they can use to overcome the problems they are experiencing, become more empowered and find greater happiness. After listening carefully as my clients describe their challenges, I work collaboratively with them map out a “game plan” to achieve their goals and create the future they envision.

This game plan often includes trying out new cognitive or behavioral strategies, letting go of beliefs and relationship patterns that are no longer working for them and developing their ability to experience peace of mind rather than allowing their depression, anxiety, stress, etc. to dominate their lives.

It also includes what my clients can do to become more self-compassionate by being their best friend rather than inner critic, knowing they are inherently worthy, taking great care of themselves, “tuning into” their authentic selves, eliminating negative reactions and appreciating what they have.

Finally, I often provide my clients with the opportunity to be more mindful and practice meditation to get “out of their heads” and develop their ability to simply enjoy each moment they are in.

My work with couples and families focuses on helping them improve their communication, understand each other on a deeper level and resolve the problems that are impeding their relationships and/or family functioning.

However, I view each of my clients as highly unique individuals and adjust my therapeutic approach to their differential needs, goals, etc.
